Program

Explore Japanese Culture After School

The goal of this program is to provide young children in New York City with opportunities to cultivate a sense of "Global Citizenship" by coming in contact with a different culture and value system. NYdV enhances the capacity and interests of the children by introducing Japanese culture through fun and creative activities.
We partnership with New york City Parks and Recreation Department and provide the program for†hundreds†of children in 5 boroughs.

Japanese Spa Day
NY de Volunteer organizes its innovative Beauty Volunteering program, "Japanese Spa Day" to enrich the lives of New York resident senior citizens. Under this program, volunteers from the local Japanese expatriate community would visit nursing homes, hospitals and retirement communities which serve and house senior citizens and provide various services to them, leaving them feeling pampered and uplifted.

This program facilitates cross-cultural sharing between Japanese and American. By showing dedication and service senior citizens a significant amount of goodwill is generated, leading to improved relations and a greater level of understanding and tolerance towards all Japanese.
This program is made possible by the generous support of Japanese Medical Society of America, Shiseido USA, and cosmetic companies.

Japanese Floating Lantern for 911

A Japanese traditional floating lanterns ceremony commemorating the victims for the WTC tragedy take place on September 11 every year. NYdV is a one of the support organization.
