Grant Writer/
Development Associate |
About the Position:
The Development Associate/Grant Writer will work as a member of
the
Development Team, which is comprised of its full-time Executive
Director, Development Associates, Board of Directors and interns.
The
Development Associate will concentrate on fundraising, mainly through
writing grant proposals, submitting grant requests, requesting funding
renewal, and completing letters of inquiry to foundations and other
potential funding sources.
Among other specific responsibilities and duties include:
1. Research and identify potential funding sources
2. Grant writing
3. Organize and maintain a tracking system for grant requests and
other fundraising efforts
4. Evaluate social marketing materials for grant proposals
5. Document and track results of funded activities for mid-year,
end-of-year, and/or end-of-grant reports
6. Create budgets for proposed programs
7. Serve as liaison to program officers and other staff at supporting
foundations
8. Assist in other development-related activities
Qualifications:
* Excellent writing skills and an interest in grant writing, report
writing, and development research; experience in grant writing a
plus
but not required
* A self-starter who is highly organized and has a strong attention
to detail
* Creative, energetic individual who understands the mission of
New
York de Volunteer
* Fluency in English (knowledge of Japanese is preferred but not
required)
NYdV is an equal-opportunity employer. Knowledge of Japanese and

Commitment: In-person meetings, email communication, skype and
conference calls (5 hours per week)

| Reseach assistant |
Conduct research and prepare grant applications for a Japanese
volunteer organization whose mission is to enhance cultural exchange
and understanding for the citizens of NYC. Improve research skills
by conducting online and in-person research for prospective foundations
requests. Draft written grant applications for submission to foundations.
Required Skills
Online research skills
Ability to prepare written applications tailored to foundation objectives/goals.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
